Nizza Monferrato

The holiday lights will be switched on in Nizza Monferrato with a programme full of initiatives, events and attractions that will involve the entire community and visitors.

Among the events, on 8 December at 4 p.m. in Piazza Martiri di Alessandria, the lighting of the Christmas illuminations will take place. On this occasion, Father Christmas will descend from the Campanon with the help of the Fire Brigade. Following this, there will be an opportunity to deliver letters to Father Christmas.

On 14 December, the streets of the old town centre will come alive with singing and entertainment: the choir of the Istituto Nostra Signora delle Grazie and local sports associations will offer dance performances, while the flag-wavers will entertain the public with their performances.

On 21 December, children will be protagonists thanks to games with elves and animated readings by Spasso Carrabile. The following day, 22 December, there will be a treasure hunt starting from the Oratory and, in the evening, the traditional Greetings Concert of the Corpo Bandistico Musicale at the Foro Boario, during which the Reader of the Year award will be presented by the Umberto Eco Civic Library.

In Piazza Martiri di Alessandria, the ice skating rink will remain active until 12 January, offering a meeting point and entertainment for families.

There will be also Christmas markets: on 15 December, Piazza Garibaldi will host the Mercatino dell'Antiquariato Nicese (Nicese Antiques Market), while Via Carlo Alberto will host the Mercatino dei Produttori Agricoli e delle Opere dell'Ingegno (Market of Agricultural Producers and Works of Genius).

From 30 November to 12 January, on weekends, the streets of the historic centre will be animated by street artists, who will contribute to making the Christmas atmosphere magical.

Finally, on 24 December, Father Christmas will arrive on his Vespa to meet the children, with two appointments at 10.30 am and 4 pm in Piazza Martiri di Alessandria.
