From Sunday 8 December to Monday 6 January 2024, the city of Alba will host the 17th Nativity Nights. Alba's historic central streets will host fascinating light installations and displays. Here is the programme:

• LIGHTING OF THE TREE: on Sunday 8 December at 5.30 p.m., in Piazza Ferrero, lighting of the tree donated by the Ferrero family, accompanied by the songs of the Coro Voci Bianche del Civico Istituto Musicale Lodovico Rocca.
• INAUGURATION PARADE: parade of the Borgo San Lorenzo flag-wavers and musicians group and the Christmas angels in Corso Vittorio Emanuele. In Piazza del Duomo, a second tree will be lit and the Sbandieratori will perform. Toasts and a snack with Galup panettone, Moscato wine and hot drinks will be offered to all those present with the best wishes of the Municipal Administration and the Borgo di San Lorenzo.
• SANTA'S POST OFFICE: 8, 15, 22 December: 3.30 p.m. - 6.30 p.m. - The most beautiful fairy tale is told in the heart of the town centre. In the elegantly decorated staircase of the Town Hall, Father Christmas collects letters and meets children ‘from 0 to 100 years of age’, in the company of Mother Christmas, the trusty elf leader and the reindeer Rudolf
• CHRISTMAS LIGHTS & MELODIES: in Piazza Risorgimento - From 8 December, every evening until 6 January, the spectacular immersive effect lights will be lit on the buildings, the Cathedral and the towers of Piazza del Duomo
• THE TRADITIONAL NATIVITY CRIB: The grand staircase of the Municipal Palace in Piazza Risorgimento will be hosting the large handcrafted nativity scene. Borgo San Lorenzo celebrates the Nativity with an exhibition of beautiful hand-painted statues, an ancient tradition of the Lucchese figurine makers. The characters are of singular expressiveness and the details carefully modelled by skilled artisans. The thematic settings in the evocative setting will bring to life all the magic of the narration of the Holy Night.
• BANCA D'ALBA CHRISTMAS CONCERT: at 4 p.m., Saturday 21 December, concert offered by Banca d'Alba in Piazza Risorgimento
