Troyana Tower or Clock Tower

Towers and fortifications
The medieval Torre Troyana, known to locals as "the clock tower," is one of the best-preserved in the region and one of the most famous symbols of Asti.

Dating back to the 13th century, it was designed by the Troya family (part of the city's wealthy merchant aristocracy) and transferred to the Municipality in the 15th century when the bell was installed: the current one dates back to 1531, among the oldest in Piedmont!

The tower was restored in the 1990s and now, climbing the 199 wooden steps, one can reach the battlements level, a unique panoramic point: come and enjoy a 360° view of the gentle hills surrounding the city.
