While it is the colour of many flowers and the hue drawn by the very last sunset ray, it is also the nuance you can read when observing a fine red wine, such as those of Langhe Monferrato Roero. So let yourself be amazed by the landscape harmonies of this trail, ready to help you discover the most charming horizons amidst the hills of the Wine Langa and Alta Langa.
Next, you reach Castiglione Falletto, easily recognisable by its medieval castle whose tall, imposing and massive central tower is visible from all the neighbouring villages. You will soon be in Serralunga d'Alba and, here too, let yourself be charmed by the sleek lines of its manor house whose architecture, unique on these hills, is reminiscent of French donjons.
Just one final effort and you are in Monforte d'Alba, a charming village where the landscape often merges with music. Here, in fact, in a natural basin where the charming Horszowski Auditorium is located, concerts by internationally renowned artists are often hosted.
A slight detour and you reach Monchiero located where the winding Tanaro river widens into the valley. If you go back and turn left, you get to Novello which, from its 471 metres above sea level, provides a breathtaking view of the Alps. Shortly after Novello you can decide whether to join the Barolo Rosso trail, which runs parallel to the Viola for a stretch, or to return to the starting point
