Colline Saluzzesi

It’s a variety of Docg wine that includes various types of wines made from grapes like Barbera, Chatus, Nebbiolo and Pelaverga, pure or mixed, all grown in 14 towns of the province of Cuneo, in particular in the area of Saluzzo, as the production regulations state (Ministerial Decree of October 19, 2010). The designation Colline Saluzzesi Pelaverga and Colline Saluzzesi Quagliano refer to wines produced from grapes composed exclusively from the respective vines.

Colline Saluzzesi Rosso like Barbera and Chatus is suitable to accompany important dishes such as red meats, game and aged cheeses. Colline Saluzzesi Pelaverga is a table wine, provided it is not paired with over-savoury dishes that will overshadow it properties. The combination with river fish is highly recommended. It’s rosè version is perfect as an aperitif and to accompany summer dishes. Colline Saluzzesi Quagliano, thanks to its sweet and fruity taste, is the dessert wine par excellence. You may want to try it with hazelnut cake and zabaglione (an egg and liquer-based cream).
