Castle of Roddi

Castles and palaces, Literary, Historical and Cultural Places
Welcome to the picturesque medieval village of Roddi, nestled around the castle towering over the hilly landscapes of the Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Built in the 14th century by the Falletti di Barolo family, ancient nobility of Alba, the castle later became part of the Marquisate of the Gonzaga family of Mantua, passing to the nephew of famous scholar Pico della Mirandola.

The history of the castle is linked to the history of His Majesty the Alba White Truffle: from the University of the Truffle Dogs, based in the historic centre, to the open-air truffle educational trail, to the professional kitchens housed in the castle's former stables.

The village of Roddi will surprise you.
